PRINCIPLES
WBL programs are competencies-based, outcomes-driven, which means that all programs have: clear, industry-defined, job-specific learning objectives; structured and managed learning processes (mostly on-the-job); and verified learning outcomes. Objective, evidence-based assessment of workers’ competencies is an integral component of Work-Based Learning. Industry-recognized certification is awarded to those workers who complete their program successfully.
The use of competencies is the basis for our success. WBLC is the ONLY organization in Canada that is successfully applying ‘competencies-based, outcomes-driven’ principles in industry-led employee learning programs. WBLC’s Leadership Team has, to our knowledge, the deepest expertise and most extensive experience in Canada in successfully applying ‘competencies’ principles and practices with private-sector companies and public-sector organizations and their employees.
